Amber Bass Patterson
Nia™ Black Belt Instructor
Amber has been dancing most of her life: ballet as a child, drill team as a teenager and in clubs as a young adult. She enjoyed dancing all those years but it never felt completely rewarding. The idea that she had to fit in to someone else's idea of how a dancer moved limited her ability to completely let go and enjoy moving. As an adult, the dancing became less and less regular until she one day read a description for a Nia class. She was hooked just reading the words, "A barefoot cardiovascular dance class. . ." She was stepping in to her first Nia experience shortly after that, moving in a way that felt perfect for her.Nia gives her the opportunity to move her whole body in a way that feels great while at the same time, giving her the cardiovascular experience to keep her healthy. |

Roger Moreno – Zumba™
Roger grew up listening to the latin music his family would blare from the radio at home. Eventually, he grew to appreciate dancing cumbias and sambas at weddings and birthday parties. Usually the last one to leave the dance floor, Roger chooses "dancing" as his therapy of choice. "How can you be sad when you're dancing to latin influenced beats and losing yourself with each hip sway and salsa step?" says Roger as he snaps his fingers to the music in his head. Join the very enthusiastic, hip swaying Roger as he leads Zumba classes on Wednesday evenings, 7 pm. You can find him co-teaching weekends (Saturday and Sunday afternoons) 12:30 with his talented co-instructor, Diana as they move you to lose your worries and burn calories, for 60 minutes of heart pumping Zumba. |
